Arizona’s Veterans Services Under Scrutiny for Funding Gaps
In a recent discussion in Chandler, veterans brought forward pressing concerns about the disconnect between state service organizations and the veterans they aim to assist. The roundtable, attended by Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, highlighted that a significant portion of allocated funds fails to reach veterans in need.
Governor Hobbs expressed her commitment to addressing these issues by enhancing the coordination of state services. “I think that I have my marching orders to continue to work to make sure the Department of Veterans’ Services is doing their job and the veterans advisory council to make sure we’re connecting folks to the help and support that they need,” Hobbs stated.
The Arizona Veterans Advisory Commission operates within the state’s Veterans’ Services Department, which is tasked with linking veterans to the benefits they are entitled to.
