Arizona’s Gas Prices Decline, Yet Still Higher Than National Average
The cost of gasoline in Arizona has experienced a slight decline over the past week, dropping by 4 cents to reach $3.32 per gallon. Despite this decrease, prices in the state remain significantly higher than the national average, which currently stands at $3.03 per gallon.
According to AAA Arizona’s Julian Parades, “The most expensive gas across Arizona is in Maricopa County, averaging about $3.51, and Greenlee County has the cheapest, at $2.84.” This highlights the variation in gas prices across different counties within the state.
While many anticipated a surge in prices due to Hurricane Melissa, Parades confirmed that the storm did not cause the expected price hike. However, he cautioned that ongoing tensions between the United States and Venezuela might influence oil prices. This situation mirrors the price fluctuations experienced in 2022 following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
