Wildfire Forces Evacuations in Arizona’s Yavapai County

Residents in the vicinity of Pine Flats, located south of Mayer, Arizona, are currently under evacuation orders due to the rapidly spreading Brady Fire. The wildfire, which spans approximately 400 acres, is burning through brush and grasslands, posing significant risks to nearby communities.

The Yavapai County Office of Emergency Management has mandated immediate evacuation for areas designated as zones YCU-2174-B and YCU-2216, as the fire remains 0% contained.

For those displaced, an American Red Cross evacuation center has been established at Mayer High School. Additionally, animal disaster services are available at Glassford Hill Middle School in Prescott Valley to assist with pets and livestock.

The fire, first detected on Monday afternoon, has mobilized multiple firefighting agencies, with additional resources, including air support, expected to join containment efforts on Tuesday. Prescott National Forest officials have stated that crews are focusing on accessing the fire’s perimeter to establish containment lines.

Smoke from the fire is visible in several nearby areas, including Prescott, Chino Valley, Prescott Valley, and Crown King. This has led to the closure of County Road 177 leading into Pine Flat.
