Memorial for Conservative Activist Charlie Kirk Planned at State Farm Stadium
In a significant forthcoming event, the State Farm Stadium in Arizona will host a memorial for Charlie Kirk, a prominent conservative activist who recently lost his life in a tragic incident in Utah. The event, anticipated to be a major gathering with numerous attendees including high-profile figures, will call for heightened security measures, although the associated costs remain undisclosed.
Charlie Kirk, known for co-founding Turning Point USA, was fatally shot at an outdoor event in Utah last week. His memorial is expected to be the largest public mourning in Arizona since the passing of Sen. John McCain. The Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority, which owns the Glendale stadium, has stated that the details of event contracts are handled by a separate management firm and are confidential.
Legends Global, the management firm responsible for the stadium’s events, has not responded to inquiries regarding the arrangements, and the Arizona Cardinals have also remained silent on the matter. Meanwhile, at a recent White House briefing, President Donald Trump mentioned, “For Sunday, you know we’re going to have a stadium. And I bet that stadium is going to be pretty packed,” indicating a significant turnout for the event.
Although the Governor’s Office clarified that it does not authorize events at the stadium, it was noted that the payment for state troopers on duty at Kirk’s memorial would be covered by Legends Global. Food concessions, excluding alcohol, will be available during the memorial, with records indicating that Arizona Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill is involved in the stadium’s food services through a culinary venture.
The memorial service comes after several vigils have been held across various locations, including a candlelight vigil at Arizona State University’s Tempe campus. Numerous figures from Turning Point USA, including its Vice President of Field Operations and Chief Operating Officer, have participated in these events to honor Kirk’s memory.
