Globe Gears Up for Celebrations Amidst Recovery Efforts

In a spirited step towards recovery, the city of Globe is set to host Christmas festivities despite the severe flooding that struck the area earlier this year. The highlight of the season will be the 37th Annual Festival of Lights, featuring a variety of cultural performances, numerous vendors, and the traditional luminarias.

The city faced significant challenges following the floods, which resulted in extensive damage to infrastructure and claimed several lives. Mayor Al Gameros has revealed that a lighting company is stepping forward to support the community’s recovery efforts.

“Christmas light decorators — they’re gonna come down and install lighting throughout our downtown area. They’re gonna put it up and take it down for us. That’s their gesture for helping us out after the disaster, and that’s at no cost to us,” Gameros explained.

The mayor encourages people to visit the city, seeing these celebrations as a significant milestone in their journey to bounce back from the calamity.
