Karrin Taylor Robson Scrubs Anti-Abortion Link from Campaign Site

Karrin Taylor Robson, a former Arizona gubernatorial candidate, removed reference to an anti-abortion group from her site, despite her pro-life stance.
Is Karrin Robson trying to hide her anti-abortion record?

Karrin Taylor Robson, a Republican contender for the Arizona gubernatorial seat, has removed a mention of an anti-abortion organization from her campaign website.

Robson, who did not win in the 2022 Republican primary for governor, initially included her financial contribution to Maggie’s Place, a Catholic nonprofit that advises homeless pregnant women against abortion, in her website bio.

“Karrin is a longtime conservative activist and supporter, working for Republican organizations as a donor, fundraiser, and activist,” her website had stated. “She also proudly donated to Maggie’s Place, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting pregnant women in need.”

The updated bio on her campaign website retains much of the original language from 2022, omitting any reference to Maggie’s Place.

Robson’s current campaign website does not mention abortion at all, which is notable considering her history of opposing reproductive rights.

“I’ve been proudly pro-life my whole life,” Robson wrote on X in 2022. “I’ve supported pro-life leaders and I am proud to stand with the unborn.”

While Robson has expressed support for exceptions in abortion cases involving rape or incest, she suggested during a June 2022 interview with KTAR host Barry Markson that such exceptions may not always be necessary. She argued that pregnancies resulting from rape are “extremely rare.”

“I believe that life begins at conception and, quite frankly, the instance of pregnancies occurring in violent situations are extremely rare,” Robson stated. “In fact, it’s estimated that in less than 2% of those situations did pregnancy occur. I would go back to making sure that every woman, regardless of their age or circumstance, knows that there are non-violent choices available to them.”

There is no scientific evidence supporting Robson’s assertion.

Robson is not the only Arizona Republican modifying their stance on abortion publicly. In 2022, U.S. Senate candidate Blake Masters removed anti-abortion language from his campaign site, as did Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake.

In the previous year, 61% of Arizona voters were in favor of a proposition to enshrine the right to abortion in the state constitution.

Should Robson win the Republican nomination, she may face incumbent Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs, who has emphasized her efforts to safeguard abortion rights on her campaign website.

“Fulfilling her promise to protect Arizonans’ health care, in 2024 Katie repealed Arizona’s 1864 total abortion ban, made birth control available over the counter, and protected women and doctors from prosecution,” according to the site.

Robson has received an endorsement from President Donald Trump.
