Arizona’s Local Fall Festival to Showcase New Business Directory

In a move to foster local commerce, Local First Arizona has introduced a comprehensive database for state-owned businesses, set to be a centerpiece at this year’s fall festival. This weekend, the 20th annual Certified Local Fall Festival will light up Phoenix’s Hance Park, featuring over 250 local businesses.

Thomas Barr, a representative from Local First, explained that this year’s festival introduces a special zone with free or low-cost activities. Additionally, attendees will have access to a new directory highlighting local enterprises.

Barr emphasized the community’s need to redirect spending toward small, local businesses instead of large corporations. “There is this community urgency to shift spending from large international corporations and put your dollars every day into small businesses in your community. But sometimes that can be difficult to find where those local businesses are,” he stated.

In an inclusive approach, the directory is free for local businesses to join. “Every corner of the state is going to be represented whether you’re looking for a local business in a small rural town or a tribal community or in our larger urban centers,” Barr noted.

The directory is currently accessible on the Local First Arizona website, with plans to develop a mobile application to enhance accessibility.
