Police Intervene as Teen Party Spirals Out of Control at School Board Member’s Home
Local law enforcement recently intervened at a gathering hosted by a Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board member after reports of underage drinking surfaced. The incident has prompted some state lawmakers to demand the board member’s resignation.
The Paradise Valley police department was called to the residence of Matthew Pittinsky, where a birthday celebration unexpectedly escalated when numerous uninvited teenagers arrived.
According to Officer Jimmy Phan of the Paradise Valley police, the event rapidly grew out of control due to information spreading via social media platforms. “Officers worked with the homeowners and contracted security staff to safely disperse the crowd and the juveniles left without further incident,” Phan noted. He emphasized the importance of parents monitoring their children’s online activities, stating, “Events like this underscore how quickly information spreads among teens, especially on social media and why it’s important for parents to stay aware of their child’s online activity and plan.”
Officer Phan clarified that it was the homeowner who sought police assistance, asserting that no alcohol was provided at the event. While one teenager was transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure, it remains uncertain if the hospitalization was related to alcohol consumption.
