Search Underway for Missing Woman in Grand Canyon National Park
Authorities at Grand Canyon National Park are currently conducting a search for Martha Overholser, a 66-year-old woman from Michigan, who disappeared after being last seen at Mather Point.
Overholser was visiting the park on December 10 as a participant in a commercial bus tour. According to officials, she separated from her tour group and has not been seen since. It is suspected that she might have gone westward from Mather Point, possibly in the direction of Bright Angel Lodge or Hermits Rest.
Described as a white female, Overholser is approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing around 110 pounds. She has gray hair and blue eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a long, off-white coat, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and carried a navy blue-colored bag.
The National Park Service is urging anyone with information about Overholser’s whereabouts to contact their Investigative Services Branch. Tips can be provided by calling 888-653-0009 or by emailing nps_isb@nps.gov.
