Northern Arizona Breast Care Clinic Earns Back National Accreditation

After a challenging period, Northern Arizona Healthcare’s Breast Care Clinic located in Sedona has successfully restored its national accreditation. This development marks a significant step forward for the clinic, which faced a temporary setback in 2023.

The clinic’s accreditation was previously revoked by the American College of Surgeons due to identified deficiencies and issues with compliance in patient care. This loss of certification was compounded by a temporary suspension of breast care services, attributed to staffing shortages at its partnering organization, Northern Arizona Radiology.

In response to regaining accreditation, Northern Arizona Healthcare stated, “The new accreditation shows it is dedicated to providing the highest level of care and delivering every possible advantage to every patient undergoing breast disease treatment.”

The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers mandates that approved facilities undergo an onsite review every three years. This process includes a thorough evaluation of the clinic’s adherence to established standards.
