Can’t attend? Try these options:
Many local community pharmacies have disposal kiosks for dropping off expired or unwanted medications. Consult your community pharmacist for details on accepted items.
If visiting a pharmacy is difficult, in-home medication disposal options like DisposeRx and Deterra are available. These methods safely deactivate medications, ensuring environmentally safe disposal.
Other Events:
The Michigan Pharmacists Association (MPA) hosts a medication disposal event annually alongside the MPA and Michigan Pharmacy Political Action Council (PAC) Pharmacy Day at the Capitol. The public can safely dispose of expired or unwanted medications, including controlled substances. Additionally, the National DEA Drug Take Back Day occurs typically on the last Saturday in October and April.
