Pontiac Elects New Leadership Amidst Financial Challenges

In a significant political shift, Mike McGuinness has been elected as the new mayor of Pontiac, defeating his opponent, former City Councilor Kermit Williams. McGuinness, the current City Council President, has voiced his commitment to revitalizing public services, emphasizing the need for cleaner streets, efficient drainage systems, and improved road conditions.

Pontiac faces a challenging financial landscape, with a $49 million fund reserve. Meanwhile, in Southfield, the mayoral race sees incumbent Ken Siver maintaining a strong lead over contender and City Council member Sylvia Jordan, with the majority of precincts reporting.
