ANN ARBOR, Mich. – University of Michigan Health C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital stands as the top children’s hospital in Michigan and is among the nation’s elite for pediatric specialty care. Mott is the only children’s hospital in the state ranked in all 11 evaluated pediatric specialties by U.S. News & World Report’s 2024-2025 Best Children’s Hospitals list, released on Oct. 8. The U-M Health institution, part of Michigan Medicine’s clinical division, excels in pediatric cardiology and heart surgery, neurology, cancer, diabetes, gastroenterology, neonatology, and more.

Mott was newly recognized among the top 50 U.S. centers for pediatric and adolescent behavioral health, a specialty evaluated for the first time. “This recognition is a reflection of the passion, expertise and innovation of our clinical teams who work tirelessly to find the best answers for every child and family who comes through our doors,” said Luanne Thomas Ewald, M.H.A., FACHE, chief operating officer of Mott and Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital.

Mott leads in state rankings for every specialty evaluated and ties for third-best in the Midwest. Rankings are based on U.S. News analysis of 108 children’s hospitals, including clinical outcomes, quality of hospital resources, and expert pediatric opinions. “We are proud to serve families from around the state and beyond who come to us when they need specialty care tailored to their child’s unique needs for rare and life-threatening conditions,” stated Kim Monroe, M.D., M.S., chief clinical officer at Mott.

Mott has secured rankings each of the 18 years U.S. News has evaluated children’s hospitals, helping guide parents and doctors to premier treatment facilities. “These high rankings are a testament to the unwavering dedication of our nurses, physicians, researchers and care teams to ensure children receive exceptional, consistent, and compassionate care,” said Kelly Baird-Cox, D.N.P., R.N., chief nursing officer at Mott.
