Sexual Assaults Reported
On Nov. 2, a patient at University Hospital reported inappropriate touching. Resources were given, and the case is under investigation. Another incident occurred on Nov. 6 when a student reported being touched inappropriately on East Madison Street, with support resources provided. This case is still active. A former patient reported a similar incident during a 1978 exam at University Hospital, and the investigation continues.
Bomb Threat Hoax Reported
On Nov. 5, a Michigan Union staff member received a bomb threat via email targeting Ann Arbor. The email, identified as a hoax sent to multiple areas, is under investigation.
Aggravated Domestic Assault Reported
On Nov. 11, a student at Bursley Hall reported assault by an ex-boyfriend. Police detained a non-affiliated individual. Support was offered to the victim, and the case remains open.
Assault on Police Officer Reported
Nov. 14 saw a staff member’s estranged husband appear at their workplace. Officers encountered the man at West Ann Arbor Health Center, where he assaulted police before being apprehended. The investigation is ongoing.
Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm Reported
A visitor at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital reported being strangled by a known patient on Nov. 22. This incident is still being investigated.
Burglaries of Unoccupied Structures Reported
On Nov. 18, a contractor reported a break-in at a construction site on E. Huron St., involving property damage. Separately, a storage building at Stinchfield Woods was reported accessed in late August 2024.
Robbery Reported
On Nov. 27, an attack occurred at the M-22 carport as an unknown individual attempted to steal car keys from a staff member. Support was provided, and the investigation continues.
Motor Vehicle Thefts Reported
A vehicle theft was reported from Lot NC-63 on Nov. 13; it was recovered the next day with minor damage. Another vehicle was reported stolen from Lot M-22 on Nov. 28. Both cases are under investigation.
