Happy holidays! Logistics, Transportation & Parking services will adjust for the 2024–2025 holiday season. Be aware of these changes to ensure smooth travel and services during this period. The changes affect hours of operations, transit schedules, and parking enforcement.
Hours of Operation
- Parking Customer Services Offices: 523 S. Division and UH South offices close December 24 at noon, reopening January 2 at 7:30 a.m.
- Fleet Services: Closed from December 24 at noon to January 2 at 6:30 a.m. Vehicles must be picked up before noon on December 24.
- Fleet Garage: Closed during the same period. For vehicle issues, contact DPSS at 734-763-1131, Roadside Assistance at 833-433-8841, or dial 911 for emergencies.
- Waste and Recyclable Collection: Services will be monitored and performed as needed. Call 734-647-2059 for additional needs.
Transit
Reduced transit services are planned for the holidays. No bus service on December 25 or January 1. Campus and Michigan Medicine bus services will see the following changes:
- Northwood Express and Diag-to-Diag services pause after December 9 and resume January 8, 2025.
- Bursley/Baits and Oxford Shuttle routes operate through December 20, resuming January 5, 2025.
- Northwood route runs until December 20, resuming January 5, 2025. From December 21–24 and December 26–January 4, buses will follow the Northwood Winter Break schedule, with reduced frequency.
- Wall St-NIB, Wall Street Express, North-East Shuttle, and Med Express operate through December 23, resuming January 2, 2025.
- Commuter routes continue through December 24 and resume January 2, 2025, ending early on December 24.
- The Wall Street Express will have a special holiday schedule on select days between 6:15 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Check the schedule for details.
- East Medical Campus Employee Parking Shuttle and Michigan Medicine Late Night Shuttle won’t operate December 24 through January 1.
- Paratransit Service and SafeRide resume in early January. For interim service, contact Golden Limousine at 734-668-8282.

Parking Enforcement
From 5:00 p.m., Monday, December 23 through 6:00 a.m., Thursday, January 2:
- Permits are necessary in P1, P2/P3, P4 & P5 structures, and M95 surface lot. Special signed spaces will remain enforced.
- No permits required in other U-M lots and structures. Free parking options include Glen, Catherine, Ann, Wall Street, Fletcher & Palmer structures and M27, M28, M34, M50, M65, M66, M87, & M78 lots.
- Medical Campus night shift staff can park in P2 for free (December 25–January 1) by showing Yellow or Orange permits upon exit.
- Yellow AVI permit holders can park at P3, P4, P5 & M93 24/7 on university holidays as described here.
Patient/Visitor Parking
- Patient & visitor parking continues at P1–P5, free on December 25 & January 1.
- Fletcher and Palmer Structures offer free parking throughout the holiday season (December 24–January 1).
