Mother of Three Fatally Shot by ICE Officer in Minneapolis
A tragic incident unfolded in Minneapolis when Renee Good, a 37-year-old mother, was shot and killed by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer. Good, who had recently relocated to Minnesota, was previously from Kansas City, Missouri.
Renee Good, an American citizen born in Colorado, had no significant prior run-ins with the law except for a minor traffic violation. Known for her poetic and creative inclinations, her social media profiles depicted her as a “poet and writer and wife and mom,” with a life full of interests in tattoos, hairstyles, and decoration.
On the day of the incident, after dropping off her son at school, she encountered ICE agents on her way home. Footage shared by witnesses reveals an ICE officer trying to open her car door, while another officer aimed and fired his weapon when she attempted to move the vehicle forward. This dramatic encounter has been captured and circulated online.
A video recorded after the event shows a distressed woman exclaiming, “That’s my wife, I don’t know what to do!” near the scene of the shooting, as noted in another report.
Trump administration representatives have described Good as a potential threat, suggesting she attempted to attack ICE officers with her vehicle, an assertion at odds with her ex-husband’s statements. He categorically stated that Good was no activist and emphasized her Christian faith and passion for singing and volunteer work.
Good’s mother, Donna Ganger, shared her devastation with the Minnesota Star Tribune, saying, “Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known,” and praised her for being compassionate and loving. The family learned of Renee’s passing on Wednesday morning, but further comments from Ganger to the Associated Press have not been made available.
