Wildfire Ignites Near Flagstaff, Prompting Urgent Response
A small wildfire has erupted close to A1 Mountain, approximately six miles west of Flagstaff, drawing immediate attention from firefighting teams.
Named the Soggy Bottom Fire, this blaze was first reported at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. It initially covered less than 10 acres but was noted for its moderate growth.
Residents of Flagstaff may notice smoke from various parts of the area, as efforts to contain the fire are underway.
The response involves two hand crews, six engines, and an additional water truck, all deployed to tackle the fire’s spread.
The origin of the fire remains unknown, and authorities are urging the public to steer clear of the affected vicinity during the investigation.
In light of the current fire conditions, the Coconino National Forest maintains stage 2 fire restrictions, which strictly prohibit campfires and charcoal barbecues within the region.
