As a subsidiary of the India-based Supreme Group, founded in 1986 by Mohan Kavrie, Supreme Nonwoven Inc. has developed a strong reputation over the past four decades. The company serves diverse sectors including apparel, automotive, and filtration, offering advanced materials and innovative solutions.

The new 200,000-square-foot facility in Lexington will focus on technical collaboration, allowing Supreme Nonwoven Inc. to engage closely with North American customers and partners. This initiative aims to provide clients with customized applications and access to the latest nonwoven technology advancements.

Amit Kavrie, Managing Director of Supreme Group, expressed the company’s commitment to the U.S. market, stating, “Our decision to establish this facility in North Carolina reflects a long-term commitment to serving the U.S. market with locally manufactured nonwoven materials.” Kavrie stressed the importance of bringing their technologies and capabilities closer to regional customers for sustainable growth.

Highlighting the strategic choice of Lexington, Manoj Swain, Director of International Operations for Supreme Group, noted, “Lexington offers us a strong base from which to support customers with responsiveness, technical collaboration, and reliable execution.” The focus will be on building local competencies while leveraging the broader capabilities of the Group for long-term success.

North Carolina’s textile sector is renowned for its innovation, housing the nation’s largest concentration of nonwoven firms and the second-largest textile manufacturing workforce. N.C. Commerce Secretary Lee Lilley emphasized the state’s ability to attract investment and create opportunities, thanks to its robust ecosystem of research, talent, and industry expertise.

The new positions will offer an average annual salary of $55,800, surpassing the Davidson County average of $54,395, with a potential annual payroll impact of $2.79 million for the region.

A $100,000 performance-based grant from the One North Carolina Fund will support Supreme Nonwoven Inc.’s move to North Carolina. Local government participation is also a prerequisite for grant awards.
