Arizona State University Reaches Out to Students Amid California Wildfires

The ongoing wildfires in Southern California have prompted Arizona State University (ASU) to extend support to its large student body from the state, ensuring they receive the necessary resources during this crisis.

ASU, which hosts around 6,000 Californian students on campus and an additional 14,000 online, is actively checking in on these students. Veronica Sanchez, Media Relations Director at ASU, highlighted the university’s commitment to providing essential services to those affected.

“Counseling, crisis management, if there are issues with their education, [they should] contact their professors when it comes to their assignments, wrapping those up or finding other plans in which they can finish those,” Sanchez stated, emphasizing the support available for academic and personal challenges.

As the wildfires rage on, thousands are forced to leave their homes. Recent updates indicate that at least 153,000 people have evacuated, with another 166,000 under evacuation warnings as of Friday.
