Investigation Underway After Fatal Collision in Flagstaff
In the early hours of Saturday, a tragic accident in Flagstaff resulted in the death of one individual and left a police officer injured. The incident, involving two vehicles, occurred at the intersection of East Butler Avenue and Fourth Street.
The Flagstaff Police Department has yet to disclose many specifics concerning the sequence of events leading up to the collision. Emergency teams responded swiftly, administering medical assistance to both the officer involved and the male driver.
Despite the efforts of the responders, the male driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The officer, whose name has not been released, was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center for further treatment.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety is tasked with investigating the crash, while an internal review is being conducted by the Professional Standards Unit of the Flagstaff Police Department.
