In a remarkable display of culinary creativity and community spirit, Hermosillo’s annual Three Kings Day celebration featured a spectacular 600-meter long rosca de reyes cake, drawing crowds and delighting attendees.
Stretching across multiple city blocks, the nearly 2,000-foot cake was a sight to behold, looping back on itself and capturing the imagination of onlookers.
This traditional Mexican dessert, adorned with candied fruits, conceals a tiny baby Jesus figurine within its sweet bread.
Excitement filled the air as Hermosillo’s residents gathered along the barricades, eager to catch a glimpse and eventually savor a piece of the enormous cake.
“It looks very long, it’s impressive. I’m so happy because I love rosca, honestly,” expressed Elvira Uzueta, a university student who attended the event with her family and friends.
Culinary students were the masterminds behind this colossal creation, using nearly a ton of dough to break their previous record of 520 meters set last year.
