Pinal County health authorities have issued a warning regarding a potential measles exposure incident in the Coolidge area. A person confirmed to have measles visited a local Wendy’s situated on North Arizona Boulevard on June 25, between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Measles is known for its high contagion rate, with the virus capable of lingering in the air for up to two hours post-exposure. Key symptoms associated with measles include fever, cough, runny nose, and unexplained rashes. These symptoms typically manifest between 12 and 21 days following exposure. Individuals experiencing such symptoms are advised to remain at home and contact a healthcare professional without delay. A person with measles is contagious from four days before the rash appears until four days after it emerges.

The most reliable method to prevent measles is through vaccination. The vaccine is widely accessible at numerous pharmacies and healthcare facilities and requires two doses to establish immunity, which develops over a two-week period.
