Trump Lauds Arizona Candidates at “Build the Red Wall” Rally in Phoenix

In a significant political gathering, President Donald Trump expressed strong support for several Arizona candidates at a rally held in Phoenix. The “Build the Red Wall” event, orchestrated by Turning Point Action, the political extension of conservative nonprofit Turning Point USA, aimed to strengthen Republican influence in key states such as Arizona.

The rally took place at Dream City Church, where Trump praised a lineup of Arizona leaders, including Congressman Andy Biggs, who is vying for the gubernatorial seat. Trump also used the platform to endorse candidates like Warren Petersen for attorney general and Kimberly Yee for superintendent of public instruction.

Trump emphasized, “We’re thrilled to be joined today by many incredible Arizona leaders who will help achieve this victory. … Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen.” This endorsement came soon after Congressman Paul Gosar’s support for another attorney general candidate, Rodney Glassman, which was met with some disapproval from the audience.

Warren Petersen expressed excitement over Trump’s endorsement, describing it as a significant boost to his campaign. Meanwhile, Democratic Attorney General Kris Mayes used the endorsement as a fundraising opportunity, criticizing Trump’s speech as “full of nonsense.”

Biggs, aiming to challenge Governor Katie Hobbs, assured attendees of implementing Trump-like policies in Arizona, including tax reductions that Hobbs previously vetoed. The vetoed tax package, detailed here, has been a point of contention between the parties.

Another highlight was Congressman Juan Ciscomani’s first-stage appearance at a Turning Point event, indicating a growing alliance. In a conversation with KJZZ, Ciscomani noted his ongoing collaboration with Turning Point despite past tensions.

Onlookers at the rally seemed supportive of Trump’s recent foreign policy actions and largely dismissed his social media disputes, including a controversial exchange with Pope Leo over the situation in Iran. Local attendee Richard McMartin remarked on the need for both figures to focus on their respective roles.
