Governor Josh Stein highlighted the significance of this move, noting, “Bailey Manufacturing’s decision to locate to Scotland County is more proof that North Carolina is a top state for businesses across all industries.” The new 50,000-square-foot facility will significantly increase BMC’s production capabilities, enhancing their capacity to deliver stamped metal automotive parts worldwide.
Bailey Manufacturing, headquartered in New York, specializes in producing and supplying metal components for the automotive industry. Their products, which reach markets in the United States, Mexico, China, and South Africa, are essential to major automotive manufacturers, including General Motors. The Laurinburg facility will enhance BMC’s manufacturing, warehousing, and administrative operations.
Economic Impact and Job Creation
The introduction of 35 new jobs, with an average salary of $52,000, is expected to surpass Scotland County’s average wage, creating an annual payroll impact exceeding $1.8 million. This development marks a significant economic contribution to the region, with benefits extending throughout the local community.

A performance-based grant of $120,000 from the One North Carolina Fund will support BMC’s relocation efforts.
