End Citizens United Unveils ‘Most Corrupt’ List of Lawmakers

A progressive organization, End Citizens United, focused on eliminating dark money in politics, has published a new list identifying the most corrupt members of Congress.

The list names 16 representatives and three senators, all Republicans, whom the group claims prioritize corporate donor interests over those of their constituents.

“They side with Big Pharma, Big Oil, Big Tech, and Wall Street while hardworking Americans pay more for everyday essentials like health care, utilities, and rent,” stated Tiffany Muller, President of End Citizens United.

Among the senators highlighted are Susan Collins of Maine, Jon Husted of Ohio, and Ashley Moody of Florida, all of whom face tough reelection campaigns this year.

According to End Citizens United, Collins has received over $8.3 million from corporate PACs during her career, with significant contributions from pharmaceutical and insurance sectors. She also holds a substantial stock portfolio and has opposed efforts to ban stock trading by members of Congress.

Collins’ stock portfolio increased by more than 77% in 2024, a year when most Mainers over 65 spent 10% of their income on healthcare. In 2022, she voted against the Inflation Reduction Act, designed to reduce pharmaceutical prices for seniors.

She also supported the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which lowered corporate tax rates, and voted in favor of the 2025 One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which proposed significant Medicaid cuts.

Husted, a newcomer to the Senate, has accepted over $550,000 from corporate PACs, notably from the insurance industry. Similarly, he supported the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

The group highlights Husted’s connections to billionaire Les Wexner, associated with the late Jeffrey Epstein. Husted received $3,500 from Wexner in September 2025, despite Wexner’s links to Epstein being well-documented.

Two months post-donation, Husted voted against a Senate amendment that would have required Attorney General Pam Bondi to disclose investigation documents related to Epstein.

“The corrupt politicians on this year’s list take money from corporate special interests and billionaires and use their power to protect those same donors as they raise prices on working families,” Muller added.

Other notable names include Michigan Rep. Bill Huizenga, New York Rep. Mike Lawler, Pennsylvania Rep. Rob Bresnahan, and Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles.
