On March 7, Bresnahan tweeted his discontent about Cartwright and Biden’s decision to halt liquified natural gas exports, promising to support PA oil and gas workers and American energy independence when in Congress.
His comments referenced a January decision by the U.S. Department of Energy to pause new authorization requests for natural gas exports for market evaluation, which will not increase prices, according to department notes.
Bresnahan criticized rising consumer prices in his campaign’s November 2023 kickoff video and pledged to curb inflation. His campaign didn’t immediately respond to queries about his stand on fossil fuels and the climate.
As per the Pennsylvania Independent’s review of Bresnahan’s financial disclosure, he has substantial personal investments in fossil fuel companies, including Exxon Mobil, ConocoPhillips, and others.
