New Online Platform Supports Michigan’s Aging Caregivers
As Michigan’s aging population grows, so does the demand for caregiver support. Recent census data reveals that approximately 20% of Michigan residents are 65 years or older, highlighting a significant need for caregiver resources in the state.
To address this need, the Area Agencies on Aging Association of Michigan has unveiled a new online platform, Mi Caregiver Connection. This website serves as a comprehensive resource hub designed to help caregivers easily access information and connect with any of the 16 local Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) located across Michigan.
In a conversation with Rebecca Hector, host of All Things Considered on Michigan Public Radio, Don Saldia, director of the Kalamazoo County Area Agency on Aging, along with Leslie Simons, a caregiver from Holt in Ingham County, shared their insights into the caregiving landscape in Michigan.
