An unsettling discovery was made at the La Quinta Inn and Suites in Flagstaff on Sunday morning when police were called to investigate a potential child death. The incident has raised numerous questions as authorities work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

The Flagstaff Police Department reported responding to the situation shortly after 9:30 a.m. at the hotel, located near Huntington Road and Butler Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found an infant deceased inside a hotel room. Fortunately, two other children were present but were described as “unharmed” and “safe.”

Sgt. Jerry Rintala, a spokesperson for the Flagstaff police, confirmed that detectives have launched a “comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.” However, officials have not yet disclosed any potential cause of death or whether the investigation is being treated as a criminal case, citing the ongoing nature of the inquiry.

At this time, it remains unclear if the infant’s parents were in the vicinity at the time of the incident. Authorities are committed to providing updates as more information becomes available and the investigation progresses.
