Innovative Cooling Solution Keeps Soccer Fans Comfortable in Houston
As temperatures rise during the World Cup festivities in Houston, an Arizona-based company’s innovative paint technology is playing a crucial role in keeping spectators cool and comfortable. EnKoat, renowned for its cutting-edge cooling paint, has applied its technology to metal structures at the FIFA fan fest, ensuring that fans can enjoy the events without the discomfort of extreme heat.
Co-founder Matthew Aguayo shared that the collaboration with FIFA began when a member from their sustainability committee approached EnKoat. “We’re excited to be a part of, you know, something as big as FIFA on a global stage,” Aguayo stated, highlighting the significance of their involvement.
The paint developed by EnKoat functions similarly to an ice pack, effectively reducing temperatures and providing a solution to pressing environmental challenges. Aguayo explained, “That extreme heat is part of a bigger problem, which is extreme weather. And ultimately, what we’re doing is developing a platform for thermal management across infrastructure.”
Beyond sports venues, EnKoat’s cooling technology has been successfully implemented in various infrastructures, including buildings, roofs, and walls, which require temperature regulation. The company has previously utilized its innovative coating to mitigate heat at a large data center in Texas and a police training facility in Chandler.
