Major Cable Provider Transition in Arizona as Cox Merges with Spectrum

In a significant shift for Arizona’s cable service landscape, Cox Communications is set to merge with Spectrum, following a substantial financial transaction completed in August. The merger, valued at $34.5 billion, was orchestrated by Charter Communications, Spectrum’s parent company.

As of 2023, Cox Communications boasted nearly 3 million customers throughout metro Phoenix and southern Arizona. The company also employs approximately 3,000 people in the state, a figure projected for the year 2025.

Spectrum has assured local customers that despite the merger, the transition will not affect pricing or require changes to equipment. Additionally, all account details and internet services are expected to remain consistent during this period. The rebranding of Cox services to Spectrum is anticipated to be completed by mid-September.
