U-Haul Plans Headquarters Relocation to Iconic Midtown Phoenix Skyscraper
In a significant move heralding both a physical and symbolic shift, U-Haul is set to relocate its headquarters to the tallest skyscraper in Midtown Phoenix. The transition from their long-standing location marks a new chapter for the company.
For nearly six decades, U-Haul’s headquarters have been nestled in a pair of identical 11-story buildings on Central Avenue. The company is now preparing to move just a block away to the former Century Link Tower, located at Central and Thomas.
The building, encompassing nearly 550,000 square feet over 25 floors, stands as the tallest structure outside of Phoenix’s downtown area. This move will see U-Haul’s new headquarters, aptly named the U-Haul Tower, accommodate 1,600 employees.
According to a press release, Sam Shoen, vice chair of U-Haul Holding Company, commented, “Our eventual move to the tallest building in Midtown Phoenix is both symbolic and substantive. It reflects the position our team has built as an industry and community leader over the past eight decades.”
U-Haul, a family-owned enterprise, boasts a workforce exceeding 34,000 employees and operates more than 23,000 locations across the United States and Canada.
