Lancaster County Election Workers Detect Forged Voter Registration Applications

On Friday, Lancaster County election officials unveiled an investigation into 2,500 fraudulent voter registration forms tied to a paid canvassing operation.

Canvassers gathered signatures at various locations in Lancaster County, and the fraudulent applications featured duplicate handwriting and inconsistent details.

County commissioners commended the election staff for identifying the discrepancies, ensuring a secure election process. Such issues are not uncommon nationwide, often resulting from individual canvasser errors.

The commissioners assured the public that Lancaster’s upcoming election remains secure, with systems in place to catch fraud.

District Attorney Heather Adams confirmed that similar fraudulent applications were found in two other counties. Names of suspects remain undisclosed as investigations focus on potential criminal and election violations.

“We’re dedicated to upholding the integrity of our election system,” Commissioner Josh Parsons stated, emphasizing that accountability measures are enforced against fraud.

Commissioner Ray D’Augustino expressed belief that this is an isolated incident, thanking canvassers for their efforts in voter registration, while stressing it may be limited to one organization.
